Message from the Head of School

Dear parents and carers

Thanks again for everyone’s support this week. The new routines are starting to bed in now and the students are responding really well: washing and sanitising their hands, wearing face coverings between lessons and generally being really sensible about keeping themselves and each other safe. We are continuously reviewing our practices and we are looking in particular at break and lunchtimes as we head towards the winter and colder weather. We will, of course, let you know about any changes.

Families have also been very supportive in following the government rules around self-isolation. Can we remind you that if a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms, all children need to self-isolate until a negative test is obtained. For example, if one of your children has symptoms, all their siblings need to remain out of school until the test results come back. Of course, if the test is positive, the household will have to remain in self-isolation for the prescribed period.

I hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend.

With very best wishes

Miss G Greenhalgh

Blutick accounts

Colleagues in the mathematics department have been made aware that some students are having issues with creating a Blutick account. As a result, they have made the decision to remove all existing Blutick accounts and then re-upload all students’ details manually next week. This will ensure all students are using the correct email address and are assigned to the correct class.

Thank you for your patience with this matter. If you have any questions or concerns please email Mr Bruce.

Key Stage 3 – PE and Games

From Monday 5 October, PE (indoor) and Games (outdoor) lessons will take place for Key Stage 3 students. Please check this document for details of when PE and Games lessons are timetabled.

Safeguarding

If you have significant concerns for the welfare of a child, in addition to being able to contact Ruth Cooper during school hours, you may wish to make direct contact with the York MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) on T: 01904 551900, option 3. They operate an out-of-hours service so concerns can be raised with them at any time.

For further information please see the safeguarding link on our school website.
