What’s on their phones?

Last week, Messrs Butterworth and Baybutt delivered assemblies to students in Years 7-10 about mobile phone use, specifically the law around images and social media. After persuading a number of students to hand over their phones, they were able to convince students, for a short while at least, that we could display the contents of their phones’ camera roll/videos on the big screen in the Main Hall. This was a light-hearted way of getting students to reflect on their own phone contents and it was clear it gave many of them pause for thought!

The underlying message is a serious one of course, and we would urge parent to ask themselves: do I know what is on my child’s phone? Would they let me check it? If not, why not? What are they hiding?
