Year 7
In the week before the Extended Learning Day, Year 7 have Spanish lessons in order to prepare, in which they learn to introduce and give various details about themselves. On the Extended Learning Day itself, each form is assigned a Spanish-speaking country, which they learn about and then make a display, which is placed into the interform competition. The points from the displays count towards the afternoon's points in PE, where students take part in a variety of sporting actvivities.
Year 8
In Year 8 five form groups go on a trip to Flamborough to complete Geography fieldwork. The two forms who have already been on the trip complete a series of activities which are led by the Science and Design and Technology department.
Year 9
Year 9 have guest speakers coming into school to speak to them about crime from the perspective of their job. Guest speakers include members of the Prison Service, Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service. During the morning students take part 45 minute workshops where they learn about crime from the different perspectives of the speakers. In the afternoon students complete an Enterprise challenge.
