Update (1 October) – Event fully booked
Our Open Evening has proved to be hugely popular and even though we added more capacity to each of our three booking slots, all the spaces have now been fully booked.
Anyone who has been unable to book a place, but would still like the opportunity to see the school, is asked to make contact with the School Office either by calling T: 01904 686400 or E: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will add you to a waiting list and will be in touch to let you know what options you have to visit the school.
A warm welcome!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents of Year 6 children to our annual Open Evening on Wednesday 6 October.
It is at this event that many families are able to see our community in action and to understand our culture and ethos, and experience the characteristic warmth that makes Millthorpe School so distinctive.
On the evening, you can:
- Hear from our Headteacher, Gemma Greenhalgh and some of the key staff that work across the school
- Meet students and staff
- Experience a range of activities in our different subject areas
- Find out how we can support your child to be happy and successful if they choose Millthorpe
Book your place
To help things run as smoothly and safely as possible, we will be running three sessions:
Keeping you safe
We will need you to arrive for your allocated slot so that we can safely manage seating. Please bring a copy of your ticket (preferably on a phone, otherwise printed out). If you arrive early, please come straight to the Main Hall to register and wait there.
You will be asked to indicate how many people there will be in your party. This year, because of COVID, we would ask that you try to keep numbers down where you can (for example two parents and one Year 6 child) recognising that family needs and make-up will differ.
Parking is not available on site – please contact the school in advance if you have any particular mobility issues. If you use nearby streets, please park considerately in suitably designated areas.
The recommended pedestrian entrance is via Philadelphia Terrace, which leads directly to the Main Hall, although you will be able to enter via Nunthorpe Avenue or Southlands Road and make your way around the site.
Everyone is welcome, but if you are unable to come for any reason, or don’t feel comfortable visiting at the moment, you will be able to get all the information you need by visiting the school website. You can also contact us with any questions.
