Pastoral Team Changes

Mrs Hough, Director of Achievement (DoA) of Roman House left Millthorpe this week to join her family in Italy where her husband has taken up a new role. Miss Johnson will be taking over as DoA for Roman House and we are currently in the process of recruiting a Student Support Officer to replace her in Saxon House. See the Millthorpe Messenger for a proper farewell to Mrs Hough.

Internet Safety Notice Momo challenge

Children’s Services have shared information with York schools about an internet challenge known as ‘Momo’ that is alleged to pressurise children into accepting challenges that put them at risk. Although there are no substantiated cases of actual harm linked to this challenge, it is possible that your child may encounter it via a range of social media/gaming platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Minecraft). As such, we would encourage you to emphasise all the usual advice about internet safety with your child and to monitor their online activity over the Half Term break. There are a number of useful websites with advice for parents, including www.thinkuknow.co.uk and NSPCC
