Extra Training Day Wednesday 28 June 2017
A reminder that there is additional training day on Wednesday 28 June. The reason for the day is that the government have removed levels from both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 2 and we are now expected to assess without them. Our plans are in place, but our teachers need time to write new assessment criteria for our current schemes of teaching. The new system of assessment will also mean changes to how we report to parents and carers in the future and we will inform you about these in due course.

School Uniform Warm Weather Arrangements
Starting from Monday, and running to the end of term, students will not be expected to wear their blazer in school because of the warm weather, although they can if they choose. There is no change to the rules about wearing ties. However, when the weather gets particularly hot students will be told on the day if and when ties may be removed.

Summer Concert Tuesday 4 July 2017
The Summer Concert is taking place on Tuesday 4 July at 7pm in the Main Hall. Tickets are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children/concessions, and are available to buy from the Dining Hall at break times.

Year 7 Bolton Abbey Trips
The dates of the visits for each Tutor Group are as follows:
Wednesday 21 June: 7ARR and 7DJM
Thursday 22 June: 7LBA and 7LDW
Friday 23 June: 7MEW and 7RIY
7ALJ have been divided between the three days due to coach numbers, your child will have been told which day they are going on. Students will need to bring a pencil and rubber, as well as a pack up and plenty to drink as the weather is forecast to be very warm. If it is particularly sunny you should supply your child with sun cream and, if your child suffers from travel sickness, please ensure they have taken (and bring with them if required) appropriate medication. On a wet day paths may be slippery, sturdy footwear is therefore essential.

Students will be allowed to bring mobile phones, MP3 players etc. on the trip but such items are solely their responsibility. Students are not required to wear school uniform.

On the day of the trip students must meet in the Dining Hall by 8.40am, if your child is going to be late or is unable to attend due to illness please contact school. The coaches will arrive back to school at approximately 4.00pm (depending on the traffic). Please bear this in mind if you are picking up your child or you need to make any arrangements for your child’s journey home.

Sports Day Monday 26 June 2017
Sports Day is taking place on Monday 26 June and all students are expected to take part in at least one event to help amass as many points as possible for their Form and House.
