Cash for SASH charity fundraising

Millthorpe’s Student Council and a group of student volunteers have this week launched a number of fundraising activities to help raise money for SASH, a local charity which works to prevent homelessness in young people.

The fundraising includes a raffle; students can buy tickets outside the Library at break and lunchtimes up to Friday 5 May. Prizes include an induction at Red Goat Climbing, free coffee and cake at Rae & Webb or Pig and Pastry, attractive jewellery, toys and games, fancy toiletries, trendy lunch bags and much more!

Students can also pledge their money to decide which teachers will have to spend their weekend trying to bake a signature cake. A noticeboard with collections for each teacher is outside the Dining Hall and the ‘winning teachers’ will be judged at the Great Millthorpe Bake Off on Wednesday 10 May.

To round-off the fundraising activities there will be a decade-themed non-uniform day on Friday 12 May. Students should bring £1 and are encouraged to wear something which represents a particular decade.
