Millthorpe Achieves FairAware School Status
As you may be aware Millthorpe is currently in the process of becoming a Fairtrade School. This means joining a worldwide movement where young people learn that, whatever their age, they have the power to make a difference in the world. We have now achieved FairAware status thanks to students and staff reflecting on their knowledge about the Fairtrade Foundation. This is a timely achievement as we are halfway through Fairtrade fortnight. Click here to read more about our FairAware School status.

National Careers and Apprenticeship Week
The week commencing Monday 6 March is National Careers and Apprenticeships Week. To celebrate these events, staff have arranged lots of different activities to help raise awareness and understanding of apprenticeships and to give students the opportunity to explore their career options. Visit the school website to read more about the breadth of activities taking place next week.

Visit from the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu

The Period 6A and 6B revision sessions for Year 11 students will swap round from Monday 6 March. The days of the revision sessions will remain the same but where a student has, for example, English in the Period 6A slot this will become their 6B slot and vice versa. Students will be issued new timetables on Monday.

Year 9 Booster and Meningitis Vaccinations
A reminder that the Year 9 Booster and Meningitis vaccinations will take place on Monday 13 March for students who have returned their consent form. It would be helpful if students could wear a short sleeved shirt should they have one, or a white vest top underneath their shirt should they prefer. Due to time restrictions, some students may not receive their vaccinations on this day and a catch-up session has been arranged for Thursday 27 April.
