All Diplomas

All diploma students must complete 10 days work experience, preferably in an area relevant to their diploma area of study. It is essential they complete their work experience choice form after carefully considering their options. An early return of the completed form will ensure we can give those students some priority as it is relevant to their qualification.

Regular attendance to the Tuesday or Thursday sessions is vital as studetns only have that opportunity each week to study.

  • All diploma students need to have a mature approach to their studies as much of the research time is independant work where they have to be trusted to use the time wisely and collect the necessary evidence.
  • Regular feedback will be given to all students on their progress within each unit, improvements to unit assignments are allowed once so studetns need to make the most of this opportunity to ensure work is explained in detail with elevant examples where possible to demonstrate clear understanding.
  • At Millthorpe we encourage students to use computers to enhance presentation and keep their work neat and legible. Having a memory stick is useful for collecting information that may be set as a homework task.
  • Research may be carried out at home and brought to school but the actual assessment work must be done under teacher supervision and time controlled.
