Years 7 to 9

For the first three years all pupils follow the same broad curriculum. To begin with pupils are taught in their mixed-ability tutor groups but setting is introduced gradually, in mathematics in the first year and in some other subjects in subsequent years.

We attach great importance to co-operation with the primary schools from which our pupils come and our first year curriculum takes account of and builds on previous work.

The style of work is such that it develops naturally into that which is demanded by GCSE. From the first year onwards pupils become familiar with oral and practical work, fieldwork, coursework and, of course, homework.
