New Language Lab

Last Easter engineers from SANAKO came into school and fitted brand new digital equipment into the Language Lab, replacing the old cassette-based system that had been in use for many years. The new Language Lab (called Lab 100) is controlled by a single computer, which operates both the Media Storage Unit (for storing students' work) and the Digital Recorder Units, which are controlled by students. They are easy to operate, and allow the students to participate in a number of stimulating learning activities, either alone, in groups or in pairs. The new Lab has many features which were not available previously - here are just a few of the features available:

  • Pair and group speaking with any student(s) in the room.
  • Phone conversations.
  • True or false and multiple choice quizzes, with answers recorded automatically by the Digital Recorder Units.
  • A variety of listening activities from any source available (CD, the internet, teacher or even other students), controlled either by the teacher or by individual students themselves.
